Georgea
Blakey is a portrait artist, specialising in equestrian and
wildlife subjects. Her commissions have taken her from the polo
farms of Argentina and Palm Beach to the game reserves of South
Africa. She was the art scholar at St Paul's Girls
School in London and went on to study at the prestigious
Chelsea College of Art. She is equally at home painting
humans and her subjects have included a portrait of H.R.H Prince
Charles with his polo pony. She has produced numerous
commissions, some of her notable clients include Viscount
and Viscountess Cowdray, the Sultan of Pahang, Sir Tim Rice,
Eric and Julia Morley, David Soul, Teddy Sherringham and Miss
World.
Her absolute goal with each painting is to capture the her
subject's individual qualities. A child's sense of wonder, a
puppy's naughtiness etc etc..
She paints in Watercolour, oil, acrylic, sepia, charcoal,
in fact any medium that the client requests yet is
suitable to the subject matter.
PAINTING FROM
PHOTOGRAPHS
Only under exceptional circumstances will Georgea paint from a
photograph. Sometimes it is necessary if the portrait is to be a
surprise of the subject himself . Obviously posthumus portraits
are always attempted if the photograph is clear enough to work
from.
TRAVEL
Georgea will travel anywhere in central London as part of
fee but travel expenses will be incurred for anywhere else,
abroad etc. Plane fares will have to be mutually
agreed before purchase as they can vary so wildly!
